South Florida Hospitals Earn Top Marks in U.S. News Ranking – See How Yours Measures Up

South Florida remains one of the nation’s top hubs for specialty care, with several hospitals receiving high marks for how they treat patients across a wide spectrum of specialties and conditions, according to the 2025-2026 edition of the Best Hospitals study by U.S. News & World Report.

Cleveland Clinic Weston in Broward County was deemed to be the very best hospital in South Florida, earning that distinction for the second year in a row. The general medical and surgical facility also ranked #30 in the country for its gastroenterology and GI surgery, and was rated high-performing in five adult specialties and 18 procedures and conditions.

Baptist Health South Florida continued to lead the U.S. News ranking this year in terms of overall distinctions. The region’s largest non-for-profit healthcare system, Baptist Health picked up 63 total awards and recognition in 31 types of care. The hospital also ranked #50 in the nation for diabetes and endocrinology.

People with eye-related ailments have an outstanding resource in Bascom Palmer Institute (part of the University of Miami Health System), which was ranked the top U.S. hospital for ophthalmology for the 22nd straight year.

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach landed at #3 for South Florida hospitals and was also recognized as #10 for South Florida hospitals, earning the “high performing” label in four specialties and 17 procedures/conditions.

The Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at UHealth/Jackson Memorial landed in the top 50 for rehab hospitals nationwide for the third year in a row. Part of the Miami-Dade public hospital system, the rehab hospital was ranked #28 in the country.

6) HCA Florida Kendall Hospital

7) Memorial Regional Hospital

8) Baptist Health South Miami Hospital tied with HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and HCA Florida Mercy Hospital

For those located further north, U.S. News ranked AdventHealth Orlando as the #1 hospital in Florida and admitted the facility to the Best Hospitals Honor Roll (just 20 hospitals out of nearly 4,500 evaluated made it onto the rarefied list). AdventHealth Orlando is rated high-performing in 22 adult procedures and conditions.
